Do you want to hear a secret? Preparing your meals ahead of time can save you thousands of dollars each year. All to often people sacrifice their health and money for the convenience of junk food. Or, at least the perception of convenience. Meal prep gives you the opportunity to plan your meals, predict your calorie intake, and keep you on task during your weight gain journey.
1. High Carbs, Calories, & Proteins
When you begin your weight gain journey, you’ll be tempted to eat everything around you. At least when you’re on an appetite stimulant. Once you have your delicious meals prepared, you’ll know that you’ll be reaching for calorie-rich foods that’ll help you gain weight. The next time you go grocery shopping, make sure you add in: Pasta, Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, Avocados, Rice, and other high carb and protein foods. As the saying goes: “If you stay ready, you won’t have to get ready.” By having these foods prepared, you won’t have to waste precious time in the drive-thru.
2. Short-Term Pleasure, Long-Term Consequences
There’s a misconception that fatty fast foods are good to eat while you’re gaining weight. The issue is, you may harm your body in the long run this way. High cholesterol and blood pressure are not worth it. Not only that, it’s not needed. By picking up the foods your body needs to develop, you’ll not only pack on the weight, you feel and look great in the process.
3. No Time To Waste!
Sometimes we don’t realize how time-consuming it is to hunt for food. Whether it be on our lunch breaks with co-workers or evening dinners. That time (and money) can be spent much more productively. When you prepare food, place it in Tupperware, and have it conveniently located within your reach, there’s no reason why you’ll be off track with your dietary goals.
In the end, your body truly the best investment you can make. If you’re wanting to see it improve, then you have to make the conscious effort to work towards that goal. Valuable information is only as powerful as the person that’s willing to apply it. Learn your body, nourish your body, and love your body. When you do, watch it love you right back.
